When to choose this product

Operator-grade use case

The default reputable-tier home for a Bitcoin-native or fintech operator who wants a regulated jurisdiction with a real licensing path rather than an offshore flag. Gibraltar is REPUTABLE, on no EU list (Annex I or Annex II) and on no FATF list as of 2026, and runs the GFSC DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) framework, in force since 2018 and one of the first purpose-built statutory regimes for crypto businesses anywhere. The Ltd files under the Gibraltar Companies Act 2014 in about 5 business days, under English common law, with apostille supported.

Most appropriate for digital-asset operators who want formation and banking under one regulator: the same-jurisdiction crypto-native rail makes Gibraltar the tightest formation-plus-banking pair on the platform, with BTC and USD held inside one corridor. It also fits operators building toward a DLT-provider license who want the regulator's years of crypto-supervision experience, and Bitcoin-treasury holders who value a credible, well-recognized base over a Caribbean wrapper.

Less ideal for operators whose priority is anonymity: Gibraltar runs a public beneficial-owner register and is moving toward free public access, so your ownership is on record, not private. If UBO privacy is the hard requirement, a Wyoming LLC or New Mexico LLC is the right pick instead. It is also not an EU passport: post-Brexit, a Gibraltar Ltd no longer sells frictionless across the EU single market, so price the loss of passporting in before choosing it for EU-market reasons.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Gibraltar on any blacklist or grey list?
No. Gibraltar is a reputable-tier jurisdiction and is on no EU list (Annex I or Annex II) and on no FATF list as of 2026. The regulator is the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, and the territory has run a purpose-built statutory regime for crypto businesses, the DLT framework, since 2018. General information, not legal advice.
Is my ownership public in Gibraltar?
Yes. Gibraltar runs a public register of beneficial owners and is moving toward free public access, so your name is on record and the company is not anonymous. The licensed corporate-service provider files beneficial-owner information under Gibraltar AML law and the Companies Act 2014, and it does so at the formation stage regardless of our platform tier. This is the central trade-off: a reputable, DLT-native regulated home, but not privacy. If anonymity matters more, pick Wyoming or New Mexico.
Does a Gibraltar Ltd give me access to the EU single market?
No. Since Brexit, Gibraltar is outside the EU and no longer passports into the single market, so a Gibraltar Ltd is not an EU passport into the bloc. It is a strong English-common-law, DLT-native home in its own right, but if your goal is frictionless EU-wide selling, you would need an EU-domiciled structure for that.
What's the total cost, and can I pay in Bitcoin?
$3,299 is the all-in Year-1 price, filed through the licensed corporate-service provider with Tier 1 KYC. Year-2 onward is $1,599/yr for the registered office, company secretary, and government renewal. You settle the whole order in BTC (on-chain and Lightning) or USDT via BitSettle; Gibraltar itself requires fiat, so we pay the government fee from our operating account.
