Operator-grade use case
The low-cost recognizable Caribbean IBC. Use it when you want a non-US holding or trading vehicle at an all-in price in line with Seychelles, filed under a mature statute: the IBC framework dates to 1990 and was consolidated into the Belize Companies Act in 2022. Belize is GRAY, on EU Annex II as of February 2026, the grey list of cooperative jurisdictions, not the Annex I blacklist; we disclose the flag so you self-select. Belize does not publish a UBO register, so your name is not on a searchable database, though the licensed agent still identifies you and keeps records.
Most appropriate for non-US Bitcoin operators running a foreign-source-income business who want a familiar Caribbean structure and an optional banking introduction in the same corridor. It is one of the few corridors where the same regional network can extend a banking introduction as an add-on, which can compress the usual 30 to 60 day onboarding lag when it goes smoothly.
Less ideal for US persons (a Belize IBC does not reduce US tax; CFC and Subpart F rules apply and you carry FBAR, Form 8938, and Form 5471 obligations where relevant), for operators who need US business banking (major US rails do not onboard Belize IBCs; pair it with a WY or NM LLC instead), and for operators whose counter-parties expect institutional-grade offshore paper that clears diligence without friction (BVI is the better spend there).

Common questions
- Is Belize on the EU blacklist?
- No. Belize is on EU Annex II, the grey list of cooperative jurisdictions with pending tax-governance commitments, not Annex I (the actual blacklist). As of the February 2026 EU update it remains on Annex II. We disclose it honestly: the reputation is mid-tier, banking is more selective than for a US LLC, and some EU counter-parties may apply enhanced due diligence. General information, not legal advice.
- Is my ownership public in Belize?
- No. Belize does not operate a public register of beneficial owners, so your name is not on a searchable database. The licensed agent still collects and verifies your beneficial-ownership identity at the formation stage under Belize AML law, regardless of our platform tier, and keeps those records for the regulator and certain treaty law-enforcement requests. Privacy from public search is real; opacity to the regulator is not. Anonymous formation is not available on this SKU.
- Do US persons save tax with a Belize IBC?
- No. A Belize IBC does not reduce your US tax. CFC and Subpart F rules apply, and you carry FBAR, Form 8938, and Form 5471 obligations where relevant. We form the entity; we do not file your taxes and we are not your accountant. Use a competent cross-border tax advisor. General information, not tax advice.
- How fast is it, and what does it cost?
- About 5 business days for formation. The $1,099 all-in Year-1 price, filed through the licensed agent, is settled in BTC (on-chain or Lightning) or USDT via BitSettle, government fees included. Year-2 onward is $599/yr for the registered agent and government renewal. The Caribbean banking introduction is a separate add-on, and bank-account opening typically adds 30 to 60 days.
